Election Gone Affection
Chaos and Order are derived from the same fundamental places. The mind and heart supply each in equal amounts, but at opposite ends of the spectrum. They are exactly one whole of the same operator. That is ME (who I am), a function inside a system that is derived by the movement of hyper-reactive chemicals.
They are flowing and moving within me just like they are you.
Trump won, Obama won, Bush won, Clinton won, and on back for the last 250 years of American democracy. The feeling seems to be greater today, but it is the reaction of generations passed too. Just like the Cubs winning after 108 years, and just like the end of the Greatest Generation. The Baby-Boomers are no longer booming, but rather beginning to resound silence themselves. We are a product of the last many decades and centuries.
We are rich with cultural bias, and love to become something in spite of everyone else. It is America’s resistance that has embolden a nation to strive forward. It wasn’t easy before, and that is the whole reason it is the way it is today. We are here now from the struggle. The chaos is what derived the order.
Wars lead to Peace, Hatred to Love, and Oppression to Freedom.
Without the former the later cannot exist, and so I carefully and timidly give thanks to the misgivings of a thousand misguided individuals. It doesn’t make any of it okay…it just is the way I see it…the way it has been and happened. Can we change it now?
They say you get to feed the wolf of your choosing, the one that you hate or the one that you love. But we all love to hate, and yet we all love to love. The opposite side to the everlasting coin whose inflation only grows with each passing year. Please lord don't allow me to be indebted to the wrong one...
Ask someone that has had extreme success of what they remember most, and inevitably they will remark on the good times and the bad times too. What they may also tell about are the mistakes that made them who they are. “It isn’t the what I made, but what I lost that really taught me something”.
And so it is, that we learn by fire, by mistake, by the hand of chaos. Nothing new or great ever came easily. We shouldn’t expect all of human history to reverse for us on this day of November 13, 2016. Why would it be any different today? On the contrary, we should seek to united and not divide, and prepare for the hardest of times, hoping to openly learn the most that we have ever learned; will possibly ever learn.
Don’t give up on me or you. Don’t give up on each other. Travel to foreign lands and small rural towns alike, now more than ever. Join the military, join the peace corp., join the church, go to AA, and go to the street corner, the farmers market, the new pot dispensary that will open up on every corner of Any-Town/Every-Town, Name-Your State, U.S.A. Be kind and loving, but not neglectful of the reality that we are in. Learn the Koran, but learn the Bible, and then please go and learn a Geology text book too…but only after listening to Alan Watts for 22 hours straight, and deeply inhaling some Darwin Degrasse Tyson.
He said “Be the Change” and “Hope”, so be it.
He said “Make America Great Again”, so let’s do that too.
And don't forget, that Burr shot Hamilton...Gandhi was so right when he said, "a man is but the product of his thoughts; what he thinks he becomes."
We have the rest of our short lives here. Just between us that is probably only going to be a few more decades, but maybe as few as couple of minutes for some of us. Not long now, and the reaper will come, and will any of it matter then?
It will, because it matters to us now. It matters because so many struggled. It matters more than ever because it isn’t the Order, but the Chaos we must embrace. The order is simply too slow for what we humans are. We are too fast paced to allow a small speck of time to be calm. That is why I write this. I just have to throw one more bit of chaos into the mix too.
As I look out the window, I see the sun is setting on today, the day before my father’s 74 birthday. It is blazing away in my eyes, searing into me time immemorial. I hold on knowing that if I stare too long and too hard that I will literally go blind. This is a warning; “Stop staring so hard at the heat and fire, because it might blind you forever”.
Give a hug and kiss tomorrow, give a thumbs up to the stranger, and a kind laugh and nod to the other side if you can. Show someone the respect that YOU THINK doesn’t deserve it. See what happens when we do…when we all do it together.
